The title of the report should describe the experiment in one sentence. This is often the first thing another scientist will see when researching lab reports. Be as descriptive as possible but keep it short. Here are three good examples.
- "Testing bean sprouting media to determine optimal pH."
- "What pH is best for bean sprouts?"
- "Results of sprouting beans for 3 weeks at 4 different pH levels."
Picking the right title is really up to the scientist. All three examples let other scientists know which seed and what is goal of experiment. One goes slightly further with a timeframe and measurement description. The first two are exactly the same, but one scientist is a bit more formal than her sister.
